How will you define Entertainment?
Entertainment is something which makes you please, amuses you by any show or performance. It is an activity which holds the attention of audience and provokes interest in audience.
Entertainment is a kind of activity which amuses people in their idle or leisure time.
Entertainment has many forms-
Animation – Some people find cartoons interesting.
Cinema – Some people entertain themselves by watching live performance in Cinema or theater in their idle time.
Dance – Some people like to watch dance or do dance for their Entertainment.
Music – Some people listen or sing their favorite music in their leisure time.
Movie – Movies also entertain people and many people like to watch movies in their free time.
Games – Games like Hockey, football, cricket, tennis, badminton etc. are also watched by many people. Games relax people. They are played for Entertainment or to achieve money like bingo, gambling etc. Some games maintain physical and mental health.
Comics – Comics have stories in form of text, images, they are generally used by children. Children are fond of them.
Television – Television widely entertain people, as it has a variety of programs to entertain all people, whether they are children, old, youngsters, men, women etc. No one can ever get bore with television.
In Australia, there are 3 national public broadcasters-
a. Australian Broadcasting Corporation(ABC)
b. Special Broadcasting Service(SBC)
c. National Indigenous Television(NIT)
In Australia there are many channels which entertain people like channel 9, channel 7. Channel 9 broadcasts many shows related to current news, games, detective shows such as CSI- Miami, game shows like Kitchen Whiz, entertaining show like Entertainment tonight etc.
Entertainment tonight is a show where anchors give latest news about celebrities, events, interviews and behind the scene looks. Kitchen Whiz is a kid’s game show with a focus on cooking world, food science. In this show, contestants answer many questions, compete with each other in messy tasks, earn points and win prizes.
For young children Hi-5 is a program which provides Entertainment, fun activities and education in a colorful and interesting way.
Cartoon shows like Dennis and Gnasher, Scooby – Doo! Mystery incorporated etc. programs are also broadcasted for amusement of kids.
Australia’s funniest home videos is a show in which host Shelley Craft entertain people by funny videos.
National nine news of Australia is the highest rated national news program of the country. It has unique and regional news contents.
